Read the Summary, a written report of your study, and the Overview, which groups participants’ answers to each question the agent asked, merged across interviews. Pillow writes both from all of your interviews once the study ends. To ask your own questions at any time, use Ask Pillow. Before you start

Open the insights

On the study page, choose Insights in the Interviews | Insights switch. Until the Summary and Overview are ready, each tab shows that it’s still being written. If you ended the study yourself, Pillow emails you and the study’s creator when the Summary is ready.

Read the Summary

The Summary is a short report. Its title states the main finding, and it opens with an executive summary of the key findings and how many interviews inform them. The sections that follow back each finding with charts from the Overview, participant quotes, and the IDs of the interviews behind it, and the report closes with recommendations. To check a finding, click an interview ID next to it, such as INT-007. The interview opens without leaving the Summary, so you can read the claim in context. The Summary covers the interviews that had finished when it was written. Interviews that finish later aren’t in it.

Start a follow-up study Optional

When the findings suggest next steps, the Summary ends with Follow-up studies: suggested studies grounded in this study’s results. Click one to open Create with the suggestion’s prompt filled in. See Create a study.

Read the Overview

The Overview has one section for each question the agent asked, merged across interviews, with participants’ answers grouped by meaning and the share of answers in each group. Answers that don’t address the question are grouped as Noise. With the running example, a section might read:
What made you stop at the payment step? Unexpected shipping cost at checkout (38%), Preferred payment method not offered (24%), Asked to create an account (17%)
To dig into one question, click its ID (such as Q3) and choose New thread or an existing thread. Your next Ask Pillow question is then about that question.

Share the insights

Both tabs have a Share menu. See Export and share results.

Troubleshooting

Pillow writes both when the study ends, whatever the number of interviews. Ending is final. While the study is live, read interviews and use Ask Pillow to judge when you’ve heard enough, then click End study, or set a completed interview limit so the study ends on its own.
The study ended with too few interviews for reliable patterns. The Summary and Ask Pillow still work. If more interviews finish afterwards, click Regenerate with new interviews.
