How Pillow works

Pillow runs one-on-one interviews for you. You describe what you want to learn, an agent interviews each participant in a text chat or on camera, and when you end the study Pillow turns the interviews into a written Summary and an Overview of how people answered.

How a study runs

1. Build. On the Create page, describe what you want to learn. Pillow drafts the whole study, ready for you to review. You refine it in the builder chat or edit it directly.
2. Preview. Try the interview yourself as a participant. Preview interviews never count toward your results.
3. Go live. The study gets a live link. Every participant who opens it gets their own interview, and the agent adapts its follow-up questions to what each person says.
4. Read as interviews arrive. Interviews appear in the study as they happen, and each gets its own summary and grade. Ask Pillow answers questions about the interviews collected so far.
5. End. Ending the study closes it to new participants, and Pillow writes the Summary and Overview from every interview. A study also ends on its own when it reaches its completed interview limit.

What reaches the agent

The agent interviews from the interview guide, the research notes, the agent settings, the study depth, and your Pillow.md. The guide decides what participants are asked.
